Maybe you’ve heard of them, maybe you haven’t. Regardless, there are millions of books on the market and I can promise you that you haven’t heard of over half of them. Here are a few books that sadly slipped through the cracks, but are really great reads.
1. "Switcher" by Diane Mayer Christiansen
This book follows the story of 13-year-old Samantha Schmealy. She’s always lived in her quiet town. Her life is quite normal — that is, until her parents discover her unusual gift of being able to switch into a black cat. Suddenly, she’s whisked off to St. Levitius for “readjustment.” Follow Samantha and her new friends as they discover the secrets of this establishment and learn that being different is okay.
2. "Dreamland" by Sarah Dessen
Since Caitlin started dating Rogerson Biscoe, she’s been in a sort of semiconscious state where nothing is quite real. He’s magnetic, charming and dangerous. But he makes Caitlin forget about everything: her mundane life, her withdrawn mother, and her missing sister. But what happens when being with Rogerson is a bigger dilemma than being without him?
3. "One Amazing Thing" by Chitra Divakaruni
One late night in a passport and visa office, nine strangers get trapped together when an earthquake rips through the building. With little food, no way to escape and a slowly-flooding space, these strangers are stuck with each other. With everyone under exceedingly high stress, the graduate student suggests they all share a personal tale — one amazing thing — which they have never told anyone else.
4. "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer
Matteo Alacrán’s DNA came from El Patrón, the lord of a country called Opium, a strip of land that was once Mexico. Matteo was not born — rather, he was harvested as a clone. 5. "The Weight of Silence" by Heather Gudenkauf

6. "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern

But what happens when these two stumble head-over-heels in love?
7. "Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver

8. "The Westing Game" by Ellen Raskin

9. "I Heart You, You Haunt Me" by Lisa Schroeder

12. "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel" by Michael Scott
This is a series of six books that follows Sophie and Josh Newman, a brother and sister duo, who help Nicholas Flamel, a 700-year-old man who has been making the elixir of life for centuries. When Dr. John Dee steals the book that holds this secret recipe, the whole of humankind could be in trouble unless Sophie, John, Nicholas and a vast cast of characters can stop Dr. Dee.
13. "Before I Go To Sleep" by S.J. Watson

14. "Elsewhere" by Gabrielle Zevin
