Labeled as the British Vampire Weekend, Little Comets (ig: @littlecomets) was formed in 2008. This quad, consisting of Robert Coles who is the lead vocalist, his brother Michael Coles who is the lead guitarist, and Matt Hall who is the bassist. A year after they released their first single, the reached number three on the U.K. indie charts.
Pandora Radio’s list of Similar Artists include: Two Door Cinema Club, Local Natives, Hippo Campus, Saint Raymond, Said The Whale, The Colourist, and The Griswolds. I think, however, that they kind of have a 1975’s-ish vibe, so if you’re into them give these guys a try.
Anyway, here’s today’s list.
Enjoy:
1. Adultery
This was the first song that I heard by them and I was instantly hooked. It was like nothing I had heard before, so I loved it. This song, like most of their songs have a great beat. Also, this song has a creative video, take a look.
2. Dancing Song
ThIs upbeat song says what’s intended use is for, “This one’s for dancing.” It’s upbeat and has a lot of guitar in it, which is a change from their super drum based beats. Is it a good song? Yes.
3. W-O-E
“The only way is Woe” I like how this song has several tempo changes, yet the drum beats stay the same. It gives the song different “textures.”
4. Joanna
This song makes me want to show it to everyone named Joanna I know. It’s a great song. It kind of has a weird music video, but the repetition in the song makes it catchy and it gets stuck in my head a lot.
5. Bayonne
This mellow song is the song that I put on when I used to work in the early mornings. It’s just peppy enough to wake me up, but it’s also really mellow and soft. I also like Robert’s voice.
Here’s an extra, because I like the music video:
