You are one year away from being a legal adult and with that, you will be graduating high school and off to college. You are becoming such a wonderful person and it's been an honor growing up with you. Although you are at the time in your life where you say you need help and you are always with your friends, I want to remind you of some important things that you should remember in your journey to adulthood.

Slowdown. You move so fast sometimes that you forget to enjoy the present. One day you will be an adult, one day you will have a career, one day you will be the life of a party, and one day you'll have a family of your own, but that day is not today And you should enjoy your last year as a child, being one. There is no one rushing you to adulthood and everyone goes through life at different rates; you are not required to be an adult just yet.

It's okay to ask for help. No matter what age you are, you can always ask for help. It is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength. It makes you strong to realize your weaknesses and making an effort to learn and grow from them. Yeah, a man can admit he doesn't have any weaknesses, but it's a better man who admits he does.

Remember your family. Yes, blood doesn't always mean family, but you get what you put into your relationships. When you are a young adult, you begin to realize how much you need your family in your life. You begin to realize you should have spent more time with them. So when you get a chance, be sure to spend time with mom and spend time with dad.

Friends and girlfriends will come and go. I, however, am here for the long run. I'm not leaving and nothing you do will change that. I will always be here for you, no matter the time and no matter the place. I may annoy you, anger you, and upset you, but I always have your best interest at heart; I want you to always remember that.

I am your big sister and I love you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
