LISTENING TO REASON

Some body has to say something.

LISTENING TO REASON
Sean McGill

I simply refuse to understand why there is so much panic in America these last few days. Are we really that far gone? Instead of being rational, caring, and happy human beings, we are acting like children running a muck over how America voted. It's distasteful and completely inadequate. Some people are not even being the slightest bit willing to see the bigger picture of what is to come. No, we rather listen to false reports and information about someone who has yet to really even begin his presidency. Everyone deserves the chance to prove themselves. I fail to see the point in telling people that all hope is lost and that we should be afraid. Seriously? If what you say is true then why make people more afraid than they already are? Some of the things I have read over the past few nights is just absolutely dreadful as well. For shame for you to say that if someone voted for trump that they hate America and other select people that inhabit the country.

Furthermore, I don't see any proof to say that the next 4 years of our American lives will be worse. We already have over 7,000 segregated schools in the northern region of America, a health system that is bent on being over expensive, and a massive amount of people who go hungry as we continue to build up our food waste with food that is actually edible. Some, however, are insisting that our last 8 years was something to marvel in the beginning of something better. Don't be naive. While Obama did manage to make some minor adjustments, it is all for nothing because the real issues we face today and have been facing for quite some time, are still at play and stronger than ever due to a lack of self-awareness. This thing we call a society has been rapidly disassembling itself more and more each new horizon. All due to the fact that we observe small victories as massive moments of success.

Correct me if am wrong right now, but as I recall, a rather large portion of America didn't even vote in this election. So who is to say some of the people right now who are having their "little tantrums" should even be speaking at all. Of course, we will never know but is it too hard to believe some of those people are not the ones causing this massive uproar to take form in the first place. I could very well be one of those people. Believe what you want to believe. In respect to those who did vote, well done. It is your right and it does not matter either way what the outcome is. Everything is settled and this is our president.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
