Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Black Friday is soon to follow. Popular stores have been advertising for weeks to let customers know when they will be open and just how great their sales will be. It's a great way to get your holiday shopping done and a great way to save money--especially if you have a big family. If you have what it takes to brave the crazy crowds, here is a list of stores that will be open the day of and after Thanksgiving this year:
1. Toys 'R' Us. Perfect for getting deals on toys desired by young relatives as gifts for Christmas.
2. Best Buy. I have always bought my new iPhones from here. They always have deals throughout the year, so Black Friday should be even better!
3. JC Penney. Offering deals online, such as free shipping, throughout Thanksgiving and doors open at 3 p.m. that day and remain open through Friday.
4. Macy's. This store has everything for anyone and always has great sales each year on Black Friday. Your Christmas shopping could be done all in one place.
5. Target. From video games to home goods, Target's sale extends beyond Black Friday this year with their "10 days of deals." Today, it was 20% kitchen items. Who knows what tomorrow holds.
6. Sears. This store will be having great deals on tools and electronics this year. Members get even better offers and sales.
7. Barnes & Noble. This may not be the first store you think of when it comes to Black Friday, but for the entire weekend, 11/26-11/29, Barnes & Noble will be offering 30% your choice of any item. This might be beneficial for college students needing textbooks for the spring semester.
8. Dick's Sporting Goods. A sport fanatic's dream, this store has had pre-Black Friday deals going on offering 20% off your order and free shipping online.
9. K Mart. Featuring a BOGO sale Thursday through Saturday, K Mart also offers an awesome layaway service I'm sure everyone's seen the excessive commercials for. It's a great way to keep presents out of the house until Christmas and prevent snooping.
10. Walmart. Walmart has great deals year round. This year, they're offering a Black Friday Store Map on their app to find the best deals near you. They're also offering pre-Black Friday deals online.
11. Old Navy. Open at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving and 24 hours on Black Friday, this is a great place to get those typical Christmas sweaters and cute outfits as gifts for the holidays.
12. Costco. This super store will not be open on Thanksgiving, however the company will be offering deals online and open at 9 a.m. on Black Friday. Big sales include $40 off a Kitchen Aid mixer and $50 off an Xbox One console.
13. Sports Authority. This sports store is offering 25% off select Nike items, beginning the Black Friday deals early.
14. Kohl's. This department store is offering 15% off in stores and online on Black Friday and an extra 15% off when you sign up for their Mobile Sale Alerts.
15. GameStop. GameStop is offering awesome deals on many of their items from games, to consoles, to headphones. They open at 5 a.m. on Friday but will also be offering their sales online.
It seems Black Friday has become a week long event. Some, but not all, stores do open their doors as early as 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving. You can be the one strutting out of the mall with an armful of bags and a sense of accomplishment as people flood in on Friday. But if you'd prefer to be lazy the day after stuffing yourself with hearty, heavy food, there's always Cyber Monday. Happy Shopping!
