10 Reasons Your Little Brother Is Your Person

If you have a little brother you have a built in best friend. My little brother is 5 years younger than me and I swear we are the exact same person. My little brother is "my person".

He was your practice baby

Especially if you have a larger age gap between the two of you, when he was first born, he was your baby just as much as he was your parents' baby! You loved to help get him dressed, hold him, help him take his bottle, etc. He was even better than a baby doll!

You'll Always Have Someone To Hit The Gym With

And the day that he starts benching more than you will be a proud day, indeed.

You'll Always Have Someone To Learn With

Whether you have the same views and opinions or not, you'll always have someone to learn and grow with. He looks up to you (even though you're positive he's smarter than you) and that will encourage open-minded discussion between the two of you, from childhood to adulthood.

He'll Watch Anything With You

When you want to watch Gossip Girl or The Bachelor, he's down. When he wants to start New Girl or House of Cards, you're down.

You Can Encourage Each Other's Relationships With God

You both grow at different paces but he's someone that you know you'll always be able to talk to about your relationship with God, and his optimism and spirituality will inspire you to grow deeper in your faith.

He Knows When You're Selling Yourself Short

Whether it's with a boy you're dating, a friendship, a job, etc, he values you and isn't afraid to let you know when that boy you're dating isn't good enough for you.

He'll Make You Laugh Constantly

He gets his sense of humor from you.

He's manly, but since he grew up with a big sister (you) he's in touch with his feminine side

From playing Barbies with you when you're little to giving you his opinion of your outfit now, he's not afraid to show his feminine side.

You realize one day that he suddenly towers over you

When I came home for summer break, my 8th-grade brother had sprouted up and is now almost 5 inches taller than me!

You blinked and that little baby doll is grown.

No matter how old you and your brother are, it will always shock you when you realize how old he's getting. From his first day of kindergarten, to his first day of freshman year, to the day he applies for colleges, to the day he gets down on one knee for the woman he loves, it will make you so glad that he is a part of your life.

Now ladies, go call your younger brothers and let him know how much you love him!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
