7 Reasons Why I Like Being A Busy Person

I like being busy. Yeah, of course I also enjoy having some down time to myself, but a person can only have so much free time. I constantly have something that I could be doing, want to be doing, or have to be doing, and I am thankful for that. Being busy is what helps form a lot of life experiences. From volunteering to classes, to sorority events and babysitting, and spending time with family, friends, and my boyfriend, I get to experience so many different people and views. So, I made a list of reasons why being busy is a blessing.

1. People will come to you when they need someone.

My Mom always tells me that when you want something done and you want it done well you should ask a busy person. Busy people will always get something done and get it done right because they have learned to manage their time and prioritize what's important.

2. You're rarely bored.

Constantly having something to do makes life interesting. Embrace your responsibilities and remember that someone else is sitting home yawning out of boredom while you're at least out of the house.

3. You'll have plenty of stories to tell.

With being busy comes friends, stories, and fun new experiences. You'll always have stories to tell at parties or to tell your friends and family when you come home on break.

4. You learn.

Through whatever experiences are making you busy, you'll learn from them. There are so many possibilities of things that you can learn from and without going out and doing them you're missing out on that chance.

5. You become more creative.

Having something to do all of the time forces you to take in what's around you and then use that to be more creative and come up with alternate ideas in daily life.

6. The rush.

Constantly having something to do can give you more energy. It forces you to get up and get ready and start a good, long, productive day. Without that boost, I know I'll feel tired and lazy all day.

7. You feel better about yourself.

Having that feeling of accomplishment is such a great feeling. Knowing that you got something done and your day was productive gives your ego a boost and proves to yourself that you can do it.

So, if you're a busy person, look at it from the bright side. Being busy can make you an all around better and happier person. If you think you have too much free time, join a club, or apply for a job, or pick up a new hobby. My goal is to take the negative connotation out of the word busy and prove to others that being busy is actually fun.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
