Usually the learning process of a particular subject or interest isn’t always fun to do. People usually learn better when they’re having fun while doing so. No, Lifetime movies don’t teach you math, science, etc., but they do educate you about valuable lessons that could be useful in your life. Not only are you benefitting from watching their movies but you're entertained in the process. Personally, their movies have taught me to be way more cautious than I used to be and made me more aware of my surroundings. I must admit that some of their movies will make you never want to make new friends or leave your house but it’s good to know certain things.
1. The Preacher’s Sin
*When you search the title of the movie on Google, A Husband's Confession pops up but on TV the title is The Preacher's Sin*
Everyone deserves a second chance. After Evan Tanning, a radio show host and preacher finds out that he has an illegitimate son from an affair that happened about 20 years ago, his life starts to spin off of its axis. Not only does he have to deal with a very troublesome niece who constantly gets into trouble, but a boss who is powerful, conniving and downright vile. With prayer and courage, his world manages to fall back into place.
This movie teaches two things – the first being that no matter how long you’ve kept a secret hidden, it will eventually come out into the light. A secret that the preacher’s held in for almost 20 years came out and not at the greatest time. Whatever disastrous secret you have, no matter how bad, let that person know because if they find out from someone else, the result will be worse. Find the courage to tell the truth. Secondly, this movie taught that giving someone a second chance isn’t always a bad move. Some are not worthy of the privilege of having a second chance but others genuinely change after a stupid and/or dumb mistake.
2. Stranger in the House
Be careful of who you welcome into your house. Jade’s father, a businessman who has ripped off many, is a disabled, widowed man who lives with his daughter. When Jade and her husband go on vacation, they hire someone (a caregiver) to help her father in the house while they’re gone. Not too long after coming back, her father falls to his death and Jade accuses the caregiver for his sudden death. While investigating her father’s death, Jade finds out some major, jaw dropping news.
To not ruin the movie, I’ll say that the lesson taught is to run a full background check on nannies, house sitters, etc. before you allow them into your house.
3. Stalked By My Doctor
Beware of strange people. Doctor Beck, a heart surgeon, operates on a teenage patient of his named Sophie. He becomes obsessively infatuated with her and will literally do anything to be her beloved beau.
If you have a bad feeling about anyone, even if it’s your parents, be extremely cautious and take whatever drastic measures you must (within reason of course). Your gut feeling is more than likely correct so make sure you listen to it.
4. Wrong Swipe
Online dating can be dangerous. Aspiring to be a lawyer in the future, Anna mainly focuses on her academic life and neglects her personal one. Her sister helps her out by creating an online dating profile for her to find a man. Anna does in fact find a few men and even becomes quite taken with one of them. When she constantly gets messages from an unknown match who is supposedly close by, she begins to get worried and seeks help.
Some people find their soulmates on dating websites while others find their death. If you consider making an online dating profile, you should find out information about the website before you start chatting with others. If the person you’re talking to gives you bad vibes or any sign(s) that they’re some type of predator, seek help immediately. The sooner you seek help, the better.
I’d say that the weekend is the best time to wind down, get some popcorn and binge watch a few movies. If you’re not sure about what channel lifetime is on your television provider, go onto Google and search ‘what channel is lifetime for your TV provider’ and I’m sure you’ll find out. Happy watching!
