Life's Game Of Hide And Seek

When the world buries us under stress and obstacles, He will always find you.

Life's Game Of Hide And Seek

As a young adult, it is easy to get lost in this roller coaster of school, social life, and (rarely) sleep. We are constantly busy doing something, and if we are not physically knocking items off of our to do list, our mind is racking through what we could be doing. There is constantly a stress of what needs to be studied, when rest is possible, and what our friends are doing. This stress may be persistent throughout our young adulthood, but along with this never-ending stress comes a never-ending embrace from God. When our lives seem to bury us in layers of to-do's and we are hidden under the tangled mess of "What needs to be done next?", God does not let this game of hide and seek win.

Take a pause, take a breath, say a prayer. There are a million and one things you could be doing, but there is only one task during the storm that you should be doing: praying. Life moves on, no matter what problem you are sitting in. Time will pass, more obstacles will come, and more struggles will be overcome. So when your mind is racing, give it some peace. Taking a moment to pray for relief and for peace is reassuring in itself. It reminds you He is always there, and you are strong enough to get through it. Pause. Pray.

Keep an open mind. There are more twists and turns in life than you can imagine. Every day, you are changing, growing, failing, and succeeding. And as your world is being thrown in all directions, remember to roll with the punches. If there is a problem, there is solution. Change can be scary and decisions can be terrifying, but know that you must accept what you come across in life. Because of this, it is important to stay non-judgmental of unexpected plot twists in your story.

Crack open your bible. Nothing is more comforting than having God's words in your hands. Whether you have your very first paperback bible or you have to look up some verses online, find a way to listen to His word. Giving yourself that time away from the world in front of you and placing yourself where God's messages can reach you is beyond important and helpful when trying to live a faithful life.

"Live in the world, not ofthe world."

There are so many distractions in all directions of life. The checklist of what you need to do will never end. As everything feels crazy remember that you are definitely apart of this world, but the negativity of the world does not need to be a part of you. Use this time as a young adult to really live. Make yourself feel alive despite the stress that surrounds you. In the end, you will always be grateful for making the best of this roller coaster that we call "life".

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
