Everyone has or will have to learn to deal with a roommate at least once in their life. Almost always, our first roommate is our college dorm roomie. While this is easy for some people, others get scared of living with a total stranger for the first time in 18 or 19 years. We've all have experienced or heard of the horror stories, but I am am so lucky this year to be living with someone who has become one of my best friends in college. Learning to live with someone is a lot of give and take. It can also be hilarious trying to figure it out. If you have/had a roommate, you'll understand at least one thing in the list below.
1. Meeting your roommate
*tries not to be super awkward* *is super awkward*
2. Coordinating and designing your room layout
It has to be perfect.
3. Getting ready and trying to not wake up your roommate
I at least TRY to not be the loudest person ever.
4. Getting woke up by your roommate
But then you realize it's noon and you should probably get up.
5. Walking into your room with people in there
I have never seen you in my life, why are you here?
6. Getting ready together
*borrows their outfit*
7. Trying to study together
There's so much better things to be doing, like talking about YouTube videos.
8. When they ask you for advice
I don't even follow my own advice, so...
9. Cleaning your room so your roommate doesn't hate you
Please don't come back right now, please don't come back, please don't see this...
10. When she doesn't hate you for being messy
Please don't judge me, and I won't judge you.
11. When we can share things like clothes or jewelry
The real problems in life deal with clothes.
12. When they loan you food
I would probably starve without you.
13. When they come back after the weekend
NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN!
14. When they become your best friend
As long as you are equally respectful, courteous, and open to communication, you and your roommate will work out fine. And if you're lucky, become your BFF.
