11 Life Lessons In Disney Movies
Wikia

When we watched Disney as children, we never knew we were getting taught about the world. Disney movies contain very valuable life lessons that people of all ages can apply to their world. Here are a few lessons that Disney teaches:

1. Listen to your inner-self:

In Alice in Wonderland, Alice comments that she gives herself very good advice, but she rarely follows it. Pinocchio is often reminded by Jiminy Cricket to let his conscience be his guide and when he fails to follow it, he finds himself in trouble.

2. Love is selfless:

In Hercules, Hercules saves Meg without worrying about his own safety. In Froze, when Olaf sees Anna is cold, he moves her near a fire and when she expresses her concern for him melting, he explains that "some people are worth melting for."

3. Work is easier when you have fun!:

Whether you just whistle while you work like Snow White, or make the job a game, as Mary Poppins says "any task you undertake will become a piece of cake"! Have a great time while getting your work done by singing a happy working song, it does not have to strictly be the one from Enchanted, either.

4. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down:

If something is hard to handle, or difficult to do, simply add an aspect of pleasure. Mary Poppins teaches us when there is something you do not want to do, reward yourself after. You will have something to look forward to!

5. Do not ever hold yourself back:

Let it go, let it go... don't hold it back anymore! We all saw what happened to Elsa and it is finally getting warm, so please no ice storms. Frozen teaches us to not suppress ourselves and go about and beyond with our potential.

6. Appreciate everyone's differences:

If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew. Pocahontas is just one of the many Disney movies that remind us differences are beautiful. Regardless of differences, respect everyone for what they contribute to the uniqueness of the world.

7. Learn from your mistakes:

Rafiki in The Lion King reminds everyone that the past can hurt, but you can either run from it or learn from it. If you make a mistake, instead of seeing it as a failure, take it as a learning opportunity.

8. Never give up:

Or in this case, keep swimming! Finding Nemo teaches us that no matter the situation, you will get to your destination eventually as long as you believe you can. reminds us that no matter the situation, you will get to your destination eventually as long as you believe you can

9. Money does not buy happiness:

As shown in Aladdin, being rich does not get you love or fix all of life's problems. When Aladdin revealed his true self to Jasmine, only then were able to live in happiness.

10. Have courage:

Many of the Disney movies encourage bravery, such as Tangled, Cinderella, Frozen, Aladdin, and Brave, itself. The things that intimidate you in life can often be the most rewarding in the long run. Just think, if Jasmine had never stepped outside of her palace walls, she would have never met Aladdin. If Rapunzel had never left her tower, she would have never found out she was the lost princess. Disney teaches us to be brave enough to face your fears and chase your dreams.

11. ALWAYS believe in your dreams:

No dream is too big; Cinderella, Hercules, Ratatouille... they all came from situations that seemed as if they would never be able to achieve more, but then, a rat became a chef, Cinderella found her prince, and Hercules was welcomed to Mount Olympus. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
