I don't care what people say, even though I have recently developed a love-hate relationship with puzzles, I quite like doing them. It's relaxing and a challenge for me. It takes away time from the internet and opens my mind to think for myself. Puzzles sure are meant to stimulate the mind and to perceive such colors in a whole new way. Though, it depends on what puzzle you're working on.
I sound like a complete nerd talking about puzzle building, but it really is fun if you have the patience, which is exactly what it tests you to do. I'm a pretty impatient person and I don't mean to be, but there are just times in my life where I wish things can move at a faster pace such as shipping whenever you order something online. Working on a puzzle tests your patience on a whole new level. I never thought I could learn so much on what patience can really mean. I learn to persevere and keep going to finish a puzzle unless you're stuck with Star Wars and it's an image of Darth Vader, then you know it's already hell.
Puzzles can build friendships as well! As far as building a puzzle, it can build bonds too. It's more fun to learn about a person face-to-face than social media or whatnot, but a puzzle forces you to sit down with a friend or two. My best friend Camille and I spent some quality time together building a puzzle of an image of cats in a garden. Honestly, it was quite relaxing and fun. It's cliche, but it's true and forms beautiful symbolism. Your world isn't complete without your other piece of the puzzle.
There are wonderful colors within a puzzle that most of us can see or not see (sorry to say if you're color blind), but it is a form of art, ya know! Puzzles display our favorite moments, characters, scenery, fandoms, animals and so much more. It is all formed in such detail that you may not have noticed before. Besides viewing a piece of art, why not build it? It'll get you to appreciate your favorite things and receive another message of art.
But you can never the challenge that puzzles bring to us. Working with a thousand pieces and beyond takes some real team work. Dealing with colors that are likely the same and to fit them in the correct pieces is real brain work. Keeping track of all the pieces so you don't lose them is like babysitting, but you will always get that satisfaction at the end of the day of completing a puzzle. Seeing all the pieces put together to create a wonderful piece of art is aesthetically pleasing. It also tests you to challenge yourself over and over again. So never give up, even though we tend to sometimes, but persevere because it's the most relaxed feeling in the world.
"It's always the small pieces that make the big picture."
