Life gets hard sometimes, right? Given the latter, some shortcuts are necessary, especially for college girls! Keep these hacks in your back pocket to make even your busiest days a little easier and your appearance a little brighter:

1. Applying heat to your eyelash curler for a faster results

Use your hair dryer to apply heat to your eyelash curler before you apply your foundation. Apply your foundation while letting the eyelash curler cool down and then use it like you normally would for faster and longer lasting lashes!

2. Keeping your apartment or dorm smelling fresh by clipping Febreeze car deodorant on your floor vents

This seriously does the trick. I love to stick a Febreeze car clip in my vent before company arrives. If you stick the clips in vents that aren't noticeable they will be shocked by the fresh smell and ask you what your trick is. Try it out!

3. Periodically using Dry Shampoo as a replacement for hair spray

This isn't your typical "dry shampoo will make your hair look less greasy" plea. We all know that. Instead, I'm here to tell you what you may not already know: to use non-color tinted dry shampoo on your clean hair. It will not only hold your curls or teased locks but also give you volume and thicken your hair. Having a flat hair day? Dry shampoo it all the way- from roots to ends. It has the same effects as hair spray does, but amplifies your results.

4. Removing wine stains with more wine

Red wine: we drink it on the regular, but let's keep this our secret. This tip will make every girl's life easier, because who doesn't have wine in their fridge? No worries, ladies. If girl's night gets the best of you, carefully put white wine on the stain to allow a much easier clean up. Remember to dab the stain, not rub it!

5. Wetting makeup brushes for a fresh and long-lasting look

Try wetting the tip of your makeup brushes for glossy results that stay on during whatever life throws you!

6. Applying dry shampoo to your hair at night

Like I stated above, dry shampoo is a necessity! Apply it to your hair before you go to sleep and when you wake up it will have thickened your hair, thus resulting in volume and thick locks for the next day!

7. Using Snapchat to gauge if someone is ignoring you

Ever wonder if your roommate is sleeping or just ignoring your text about the dishes? Or if anyone, for that matter, is ignoring your texts? Low key, since we all love to creep- wonder no more! Simply hold your finger down on their snap chat username and look at the number beside it. When the number increases by one point, they've sent one snap, and so on. It might drive you insane getting addicted to continually checking, but at least now you can tell if someone is ignoring you without double texting. If their number goes up but they haven't texted you back, you now know. This is a little hack that helps us to not appear crazy, you know, because we're not!

8. Flashing your student ID to make sure you never have to buy items for full price

Almost all chain restaurants and local stores in college towns offer discounts when you flash your ID! This trick will save you loads of money, plus- who doesn't love a discount?

9. Using the tip of a bobby pin to apply glue to your fake eyelashes

Fake eyelashes are a hassle and almost impossible to apply by yourself! This trick keeps your fingers from getting sticky. Although I know we all have 500 bobby bins, but can only manage to find 3 when we need them, if you do have a spare pin, try this out!

10. Using black Snapchat font

Although it is said that white goes with everything, is that really the case? Sometimes you need a black font to caption your "black on black" caption showing off your black outfit. To do this, simply press the T to make the font bigger. Then, hold down on the color changer and drag your finger all the way to the bottom of your screen. This results in black font that switches things up a bit!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
