Between working as an Assistant Manager in a gas station and becoming an author, I tend to meet all kinds of people. People come from all walks of life in both of my jobs. On occasion you meet someone that is simply amazing. A person that their aura just glows so bright you can’t help but be drawn to them. One of those people for me is, Martha Boss-Coth. A woman who wears many hats; a teacher, a mom, wife, a model, and blogger. Being an author, bloggers are our life line. They’re like the Mom that brags about how amazing her kid is. If we were drowning, they’d be the life raft that was thrown out to save us.

Blogging has become a huge outlet for people to express themselves and let their voices be heard. Martha runs a blog called, Diva Does 4 Good. It’s a small but mighty blog that has been amazing to us indie authors. So I asked Martha to tell us a little about her blog and her modeling so that you can get to know the amazing person I have come to know and to give you a little insight into the life of a blogger.

1.What made you decide to become a blogger?

I'm an avid reader. I love reading so much I became a reading teacher. When I was looking for a change in my life I sat down and made a list of things I love to do. Reading was at the top. I wanted to go a step further and connect with the authors who give us these beautiful words and delicious characters we fall in love with.

2.Tell me about your blog. What kind of content do you write about/promote?

When I started my blog a year ago I wanted to just blog about books. I wanted to give the authors more exposure. Cover reveals, spot lights and interviews. Then around 6 months in I started getting emails from sponsors wanting me to try their products. So I added sponsorships. So I blog about books, food and travel. Mainly traveling to book signings and along the way eating food and talking about all my adventures.

3.Do you believe becoming a writer for a blog gives you and other bloggers a better chance to have your voices heard?

Well, I'm up in the air about if my blog lets my voice be heard. I'm smaller than most blogs. I have about 2,300 followers and I'm in the running with blogs with 10k followers. I honestly don't think people can see me. At least that is how I feel right now. But I'm my own worst critic. I want to be seen. I need to be heard. But that is also why I can't just stick with blogging about books. I have to branch out. I want to help and connect with people all over the globe.

4. I see you’re also a model, tell us a little about that. What made you decide to get into modeling?

LOL, ask my mother how long I've wanted to model. I'm sure she would say all my life. I tried when I was in 6th grade, but kids at school found out I was in ballet and modeling so they beat me up at school. It was so bad my mother had me transferred to another school. I gave up. I tried to end my life 3 times as a teenager, all because I really thought I was too ugly to live. So dealing with those social pressures and being adopted did a number on me. But in college my older sister got in touch with me. She told me every day I was beautiful and said that she would keep telling me until I believed it. She died 4 years ago. It broke me. But when I came out of recovery I promised her I would teach all the young girls, as she taught me, to love yourself. As a teacher and body positive activist, I've tried to spread the message that all bodies are good bodies. I want to give the modeling world a new face and body type. I want all the young girls that have been bullied and belittled for their size and skin color that they too are beautiful. I want them to know how beautiful they are. I want them to hold their heads up high and tell the world they are good enough. If I can do this so can they.

5. There is a growing industry of plus size models, male and female, why do you think that is?

The industry for plus size models is growing because the world finally wants to see what the reality is. There shouldn't be a standard for what beauty and size should be. We all come in different shapes and sizes, but when I look at a magazine or see a television show I never see anyone that looks like me. This is why I'm so proud of Ashley Graham and Tess Holliday. They are strong empowered women who love themselves and are breaking barriers for us all.

6. Is there anything you want to say to someone that aspires to be a model but is afraid they don't fit the mold?

To those aspiring to be models but are afraid I say LOVE YOURSELF. Love yourself inside and out, because when you do it will show in your pictures. The confidence will exude out. To help me do this I honestly read Kim Kardashian's book "Selfish"... Well, rather looked at it. To some she may not be a role model but to me she is about her business. She knows what she wants and goes for it. So if modeling is something you have a passion for, then dive in. Do your homework. Learn the craft of modeling, because it isn't all about taking a picture. Its an art. Also, when people see how confident you are they will flock to you. All the photographers will want to take your picture. My moto is always "Support those who support you."

7. Is there anything else you're working on that you'd like to share with us?

Well, I'm currently working on a few writing projects. I've always wanted to become a writer. So I have a couple of books and manuscripts I'm writing. My dream is to co-write a book with Sylvia Day. I'll keep you posted on how that goes. I have a crazy busy life as a teacher, mom, wife and life coach. My life is BANANAS!!!

8. Where can we follow you on social media?

I'm addicted to social media from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat (I sing late at night to my cat) I adore my followers. I also love giving away random things around my house.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
