MORNINGS
The early morning gives its first clue:
There’s sun in my window,
Voices in the air.
Stress of day has not yet hit.
To return to dreams or
wake for the world?
SUPPLIES
A jacket, some shoes;
Maybe a warm hat or two.
A backpack with snacks,
Light 'n a water bottle.
Sunscreen and sunglasses;
A camera if you’d like.
Sleeping bag perhaps
Or just a blanket will do.
Life is your journey
Bring what you require.
BLUE SKIES
Camera in hand, I roam the earth,
a lake edge here, a hillside there.
Click! Goes the shutter
Once, and then twice,
now I check the film:
The flower’s in focus;
The squirrel is not.
He scurries away
Before the next shot.
The bud is blue, small,
And next to the road.
In a patch of blossoms
it reaches high for the sun.
caring not for others
nor how long it lives.
this moment is all it needs.
I return to my wanders,
Lesson in hand
RESTING
Friends have gathered
and bellies are full,
laughter climbs to the roof
and the air breezes through.
Life is all well,
With people you love.
