Letting Go And Letting God

Surrendering our lives to the Lord.

21
Letting Go And Letting God
Michael Mayeaux

We have an almighty Father, the Lord of all creation, and he is calling us. He wants everyone, you and me, to come as we are to share in His eternal life. He calls us waiting for us to surrender everything to Him. Our sin, burdening weight, hurt and pain, our whole life, he wants it all. Surrendering everything to Him allows us to be free, to live free lives as we follow on His everlasting path.

But I trust in you, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me.
Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love.
-Psalm 31:14-16

When we call on our God and surrender to Him, He will save us in His love. We become servants to His word and are only asked to trust in Him an share of his life. Surrendering all to the Lord is easy, and once you have the courage to believe and trust in the word of God, He will take you. Have faith in Him.

Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
-Psalm 103:2-5

God saves. Sickness, depression, hurt, pain, sin, these are all things God can free us from. Those who have faith and trust in the Lord are relieved of all sin and burden. God sent His only Son to die on a cross so that we may live. We have been brought from death to life. He was sent to save all who surrender.

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
-Mark 8:34-35

God does not want us to ask for a saved life. God is calling us to crave Him and His word. When we follow in Him and declare ourselves as a disciple of the Lord, then we will be saved. We are all called to be a disciple of the Lord, practicing the gospel and spreading His good wherever we go. Through faith and supplication, we will be changed, submerging your live in Christ will ultimately save you, not the desire to be saved.

But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.
For what you have done I will always praise you
in the presence of your faithful people.
And I will hope in your name,
for your name is good.
-Psalm 52:8-9

God created every person for a purpose. We are all different, beautiful, and wise. But only when we give our lives to Him will we flourish to our full potential. Then we will flourish like the olive tree. A tree beauty, health, color, fruitfulness, and strength. Learning to trust in our God, will make us the most beautiful and kind person we could ever be. He shapes and molds us to be of His will, because as a creation in God, we are the most precious with Him.

So it’s time to let the Lord take our lives and cleanse us of the dirt this world has thrown at us. When we allow ourselves to fall into His love and out of our selfishness, we will be free. Free to follow on His path of righteousness, and live a free life. So let go of your life, and let God take control.

Sincerely,

A girl whose passion is in the Lord.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
