A Letter to You, My Person

Look at you, I know you're reading this, most likely because I tagged you in it but hey it still counts.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but now you're stuck with me forever! Seriously, I could never say thank you enough for all that you have done for me.

You've been with me through the unexpected; in that statement is a lot. A lot of tears, a lot of smiles, and a lot of memories. You are the one I call at 3 AM because I can't sleep or at 3 PM because I'm getting lonely driving, but you always answer. There is never any questions asked. You're my best friend without needing the title of best friend. You're the one I get to go with me in sketchy gas stations because I've driven on 'E' the last 100 miles. You're my forever lunch date to my favorite Mexican restaurant. You're the one who has sat on my hospital bed flipping through channels while I couldn't sleep. You're the one I get a call from because you know I'm missing you. You're the one I want to go on my greatest adventures with but Netflix will do for now. You're the one who is honest about the way the dress looks or a new shade of lipstick. As corny as it sounds, you're the person who makes me laugh when I'm crying. You're the person who understands even if I tell you "I'm not hungry," you'll still order a large fry because you know I'm going to steal some. You're the person who won't let me go to bed mad at you. You're the person who makes sure I make it home okay. You're that person for me. You're the person I hope to be like. You're the person who I want nothing but blessings for your life. You're the person who needs a "person" as perfect as you are. You're the person who lets me be your person even though I'm not the best at it. Looking back, I never knew I needed you, but now I couldn't imagine my life without you.

I love you.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
