To my once-in-a-lifetime people,
Sometimes, you meet someone, and for whatever reason, they ignite something within you. They open your eyes to a whole new world, challenge you to grow in areas you didn't know needed improvement, and make you a better person because of their presence.
You guys are those people.
You're the people who have changed me. I mean that in a good way. Because of the friendship we have, or had, I'm not the same person I was before we met. You're the kind of people you only meet once in a lifetime.
For some of you, we're vastly different. We have different views on life, the world, politics, religion, and a whole bunch of other things that constitute who we are. I think that's what makes you guys stand out to me. Through our friendship, you've challenged me to reconsider and evaluate some of the things I believe in. You've unintentionally forced me to confront my own views on God and faith, and while you haven't changed them, you've helped me strengthen them and realize how important He is to me. I couldn't have done that without you. Through some of the conversations we've had, you've shown me brokenness and pain that I've never encountered in friends before. This has taught me how to be a more caring, supportive, and genuine friend. Thank you for that. I don't think you all will ever really know the impact you've had on me. You inspire me to keep moving on, to cherish my family and friends, and to never stop praying.
For some of you, we're like two peas in a pod. We have countless memories together, with undoubtedly more to come. You guys just get me. We have a connection that is rare. We have similar interests and hobbies, yes, but what's better than that is our spiritual connection. I don't even know how many deep conversations we've had about our life problems, faith, insecurities, and painful memories. We have the kind of friendship where we can act completely ridiculous and stupid, and then bare our souls to each other. It's a kind of friendship I never thought I would have but craved. Thank you for listening to me ramble about the same things over and over again, for praying for me when I'm in tears, and for offering Godly advice when I need it the most. You all have become part of my family.
To all you once-in-a-lifetime people, I thank you.
Thank you for the endless amounts of laughter, the memories, the conversations that matter, the spontaneous trips to anywhere, the encouragement, the advice, and the love. Thank you for the lessons about life and myself you've taught me over our relationships. Thank you for molding me into the person I am today.
Even though I don't talk to some of you anymore, I'm so blessed to have had you in my life and known you. Once again, thanks for everything.
I hope you all meet your once-in-a-lifetime people someday, and that they're as impactful to you as you have been to me.
