Dear Best Friend,
This first year of college has been the time of my life. I have met new people, experienced so many new things, and I’ve learned to live without seeing you everyday. Let’s be honest that’s the hardest part of it all. You were my go to person when there was something going on in my life, and when I just wanted to hangout and watch a movie. You were there for me through everything, and always managed to put a smile on my face. Going to college I knew that this would be a big adjustment for the both of us, and I always wondered if our relationship would change once we went off to college. Leaving you was one of my hardest goodbyes, but I believe it is something that needed to happen to prove not only to ourselves, but to each other that we can live without one another.
College has not only brought us closer, but it has taught us that communication is key. It has built upon a relationship that is truly unbreakable. It has shown me that no matter who I meet at college no one could compare to you. It has also shown me that I do not only view you as my best friend, but my sister. College has shown me that having someone like you in my life seems to be necessity at this point. You know me better than I know myself, and you know how to give the best advice in any type of situation.
Now that I have listed some things that college has shown me, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for always being a phone call away. You have no idea how much those Facetime calls helped me when I was feeling lost or just missing you. Thank you for showing me what friendship truly means, and that no matter how many miles we are from each other we have a bond that is unbreakable.
I can’t wait to be reunited with you and take part on our crazy adventures together. I can’t wait to make homemade cookies, go to the park, wear sweatpants with you and not feel judged, and eat endless amounts of ice cream. Most of all I can’t wait to make new memories with you. It’s weird to think that high school led me to meet my best friend, and that over the years I look at you more like my sister. I’m so grateful for all the years spent together. My favorite thing is looking back and laughing at the many things we’ve done together. Our memories will truly last a lifetime, and I’m looking forward to continuing our journey together. I’m so happy I can call you my best friend, and so thankful you put up with all my crazy shenanigans.
