To My High School Friends,
First, I'd like to say thank you for over seven years of friendship. Some of you I've been friends with since first grade, and others since freshman year, but I still love and miss you all. We have only been away at school for a month or so and I can't help but compare people I meet to you guys. Oh, you play soccer; my friends from home play soccer. Oh cool, you're a biology major; so is my friend from home. Awesome, you like sports; my friend is going to hook me up with a famous athlete once she gets her law degree.
We shared some pretty big moments together, and I surely wouldn't be who I am without each and every one of you. From long hours spent at the studio, to hanging out at the Diner or Airmont Eats, or musical rehearsals that never seemed to end, I've made countless memories with each of you that will forever be with me. I can't look back on high school without missing you all terribly, and anytime I see something or have good gossip I go to text you, but wait, you don't know the person, you aren't in the classroom down the hall anymore and we can't meet up between classes, walk together, and rant about guys or annoying teachers.
I know with you guys I can act crazy and weird and not have to worry about actually making plans because we were masters at last minute hangouts. No longer are we sitting through football games or freezing at the hockey rink supporting the people we have known since our elementary days. Now we are surrounding ourselves with new, amazing people and going places we never imaged reaching and although you aren't here with me physically I know I have each and every one of you to fall back on, no matter what. If it's two am calls after a night of stressful studying and I've decided college is just too hard and I'll work the streets instead or just general how are you texts, you're with me every day.
Shine bright, guys. I know we are all heading for an amazing future.
