This school year is bringing a lot of changes not only to me but to my siblings as well. I'm lucky enough to have four awesome and talented siblings. Each of them is entering a new and important phase in their lives, and I'd like to give some advice to take with them throughout the year(s).
Cassidy,
It's finally here. Your senior year, girl! This year is going to be the fastest year of high school. I didn't really believe that when everyone said it, but they were right. If I can give you at least one piece of advice, it would be that senior year is what you make of it. Hang out with your classmates every chance you get. After this year, you'll most likely never see most of them again. I promise that it is not "lame" to get involved and have the most school spirit. Go to all of the school's events, whether it is sports related or not. Wear that black and gold with pride. When homecoming week rolls around, don't be afraid to dress up. In fact, I encourage you to dress the wildest! Take all of the dress up days to the extreme and don't feel weird about it. I also encourage you to continue to push yourself in your academics as well as basketball. You have improved so much and I can't wait to come home and watch you play the sport you love. The most important thing I can tell you is to leave a great legacy. Be a Godly girl that everyone in the entire school can count on and look up to. Share your faith and let Jesus shine through you in all that you do.
Chance & Abegail,
You two are both freshmen! I can't believe you two only have a few more years of high school left. I know you're probably thinking that senior year seems like it's forever away, but I promise it will go by a lot faster than you think. You probably don't believe me, but in time you'll understand. Freshman year is the year that you're at the bottom of the totem pole. This year your academics are going to count toward your transcript, so try your hardest in every class you have. I'm not saying you have to have an A in every course, but at least try your best, because I promise that your transcript matters in the future. This is also the beginning of your high school career in sports! You may not get to play a lot, if at all, but you'll get there. Start setting goals this year for the years to come. Work hard toward those and don't lose sight of your dreams. You two also need to step up and be the Godly leaders that our school needs. I know you can do it!
William,
Oh Will. You are just now entering junior high. I was terrified when I went into 7th grade. I have a feeling that you're not scared at all! It will be a little bit of an adjustment with somewhat new people, new teachers, and going to and from all of your classes, but it's not as bad as it may seem. You have five more years until your senior year, but just like I told Chance and Abegail, it will fly by so quick and you'll wonder where the time went. All I can really tell you is to try your best from here on out because it will get a little harder and a lot more work. I need you to also be a Godly young man for everyone at the school. I can't wait to see what you'll be doing in a few years!
My siblings and I have had our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. I hope they have a fantastic school year, and I can't wait to see all of the things they will accomplish! I love you all so much! Have a fantastic year, and never hesitate to call/text me if you ever need anything!
