We may not have it all together but together we have it all

Dear Roomies,

Where do I even begin? It’s been nine months since we first met each other during our first few weeks of freshman year, and since then, well, let’s just say it’s been one crazy ride. Who knew I would gain three incredible roommates that would become my best friends. As we part our ways for the summer, there are some things that I want to tell you; things that I couldn’t find the right words to tell you in person.

Thank you. Thank you for proving that everything happens for a reason. When I first came to college, everyone was telling me that not everyone's best friends with their roommates, and not everybody’s roommates are their best friends. But fortunately for us, we got the two in one package deal and I am so beyond blessed to have you all in my life. Thank you for being there when I needed you the most. I know I can be difficult at times to deal with, and there are times where I just need to cry, scream, or just laugh and you were there either laughing with me or telling me that everything was going to be ok. Thank you for being my family when I was having a hard time with my own. But most importantly, thank you for being you. You all are amazing individuals and there is nothing more I could have asked for for my first year in college.

I’m sorry. I am sorry for all the times I was so stressed out or I bottled up my feelings where I just lashed out at you. I am sorry for all the times I canceled plans because I was too stressed to go out. I am sorry for spending all of my time in the library during finals and disappearing until ungodly hours. I am sorry for all the times I had too much to drink and you had to wake up in the middle of the night to make sure I was drinking water and taking aspirin. I am sorry that there were times where I wasn’t there for you when you needed it the most. I just want to say that it is never my intention to hurt you in any way and if I do or ever did know that I am sorry.

I hope. I hope that you all live the life you deserve. I hope that each and every one of you are happy with your career choices and one day is the most successful lawyer, doctor, or diplomat in the world. I hope that you are able to live life to the fullest with no regrets. I hope travel the world and meet that cute boy we always talk about late at night. No matter where life might lead, I hope you are the happiest. But most importantly, I hope we stay together forever.

I love you. To the roommates and friends that have shaped me into the person I am after my first year of college, I love you. I love how I can text you at any point of the day and say “want to get food?” I love how you wake up with me before my 9:45 just to help feed my caffeine addiction. I love the late night conversations that we have had. I love how we are able to tell each other anything and not judge one another. I love how we help each other out through a simple “SOS” text when out Tinder dates go wrong. I love when we are able to go out and just laugh, talk, and have fun. But most importantly I love all of you. Thank you for being the biggest blessings that have come into my life and never forget that whatever life throws at us, I will always love you.

With Love,

Your Roommate

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
