To the cutest pets in the entire world,
First off, I want to say, I promise I haven't replaced you. I didn't go running off to find another puppy or kitty to devote all my love to. (I swear that time I came home smelling like I had been petting another cat was a one-time thing. It was my friend's cat, not your new competition).
I'm currently going to school four hours away and that's why I haven't been able to see you every day. I know, I know, I've been going to school my whole life. I disappeared for seven hours a day five days a week, but I always came back and let you sit on my lap or I would rub your belly. However, this school is a bit different; it's called college, and lucky for you, the place I live doesn't allow me to have any pets—except for fish, but who wants a fish?
So why do I keep coming home for a couple days and then mysteriously vanishing again? Well, that means I'm on a vacation. Vacations can last for a couple weeks, which means I get to cuddle with you a lot, or only a couple days, which is when the mysterious vanishing happens. It breaks my heart coming home and seeing your cute faces for only a few days and then having to leave, but sometimes it's what I need to do, even if I don't want to.
I miss you both so much and being away from you can get really hard. You two aren't just pets, you're my best friends and I love you. I couldn't have asked for any more adorable, loving or cuddly-cuties to call my lovely pets.
I know sometimes it gets ruff (get it, rough) not being able to lay on my bed, or chew on my shoes, or get fur on every article of clothing I'm wearing now that I go to college, but I promise it will be okay. Soon I will be home for summer and you'll have four months to eat everything I own or sleep on my pillow again.
Remember, I love you both. Don't go too crazy without me.
