My parents, You are the ones who have been by my side since day one. The ones who have supported me no matter what. The ones who have loved and cared for me. Without you both I don’t know where I would be. You are the ones who have helped me through thick and thin. I’m lucky enough to have a close relationship with both my parents.
Having a mom who’s a great supporter and a dad who would do anything to protect his daughter. And all the concerning and caring advice you have both given me (that I wish my younger self had listened to). Telling me which friends are genuine and which are not. And listening when you told me to not go back with that "boy" for the fourth time because he's no good for me. And you were right, because you knew exactly who was messing with me and who was actually true to me.
You have been through the same situations, if not similar, so you know what you're talking about when you say to "kick them to the curb." You have been there for every heart break, every report card, every birthday, every school event and so on. Throughout every moment spent with you, whether good or bad, you have managed to put me first and never give up on me. And I appreciate every moment spent with you both. Even since moving away, I would call you guys every night to chat and check up on everything. And (while visiting every other weekend) I always spend as much time as I can with you both, even if it is just watching TV together or chatting over breakfast. I cherish all my time spent with you two because I can’t imagine ever losing you.
From what has been said, I would like to say "thank you" to both of you. Thank you isn’t enough to acknowledge everything you both have done for me. No words can describe how grateful I am for such a wonderful mom and dad. I don’t give you guys enough credit for everything you've done for me. You are the ones who have made me the woman that I am this very day. And I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.
You two are my whole world. You hold a special place in my heart and always will. I am so thankful to have such wonderful, loving, caring, and wise parents. I aspire to be just as great parents as you, teaching my kids everything my parents have taught me. And with that being said, I hope you both know I will always be your little girl.
