Dear Old Friend,
I am not quite sure where our friendship went ary. Was it that we just grew apart as we got older or was it that one of us hurt the other? Whatever made our friendship diminish, I want you to know I am not mad, rather I am thankful. I am thankful for the memories, the lessons, and the time we had together. You were someone who was there for me through the good and the bad and I can never thank you enough for that.
I still remember the first time we met. I remember the instant connection we had. I remember how innocently we put our differences aside and gave our friendship a shot. And that attempt of a friendship turned into a friendship that flourished for many years. In those years, we had our fair share of arguments, but it made us stronger. We also had our fair share of laughs that we still talked about years to come. And finally, we created memories that we can share with our kids and grandkids to come.v
As I look back on our friendship, I get happy to know I had a friend like you in my life. A friend who always had my back and who always was genuine in all they did. I become happy because I know wherever you are now, someone is friends with you and getting to experience just how great that is. And finally, I become happy to be able to say I once knew you and that I can accredit where I am today partially to you.
I hope you know the door to our friendship isn't locked; rather, the door is closed and can willingly be re-opened whenever you'd like. There is no animosity here and I hope one day we can get together and still share our laughs and memories we once shared. So wherever you are, I wish you the best of luck and will always be proud of all you do.
Love,
A Former Friend
