The thought that you will not be here with me one day is unimaginable. I don't even want to picture what my life will be like without you, because a world without you is a world I don't want to know. I will be lost without our weekly phone calls that at times manage to go on for hours, mostly because there is never enough gossip to spill about my second cousin’s, aunt’s, best friend. I never knew who you were talking about, but then again I think that’s a good thing because I know probably more about their life than they do.
I look forward to the family events that take place at your house; there truly is no place like your home. Even when I was little and would spend the day at your house, which I made very clear that I did not want to, you would always make sure to spoil me rotten and take me on movie dates.
I will also look back and remember our trips to Stew Leonard’s. You would never get any shopping done when I was around because of my memorization of the dancing cows. Even still to this day, you have to drag me away from the singing mariachi chickens.
Thank you for always being the one to stuff my face with ice cream, before and after diner. If I ever have a sweet tooth, I know the place to go. Of course we always have to tip toe around Poppop who is never a fan of his ice cream stash being eaten.
Thank you for fighting. I know you’re in such an unimaginable amount of pain right now. Everyday is a fight. Thank you for fighting to stay alive, for me. We have a deal set in stone that you will be at my wedding, even if I have to push you in a wheelchair. I know this deal is unrealistic now, but thank you for still assuring me that you will be there no matter what, even if it’s from up above.
I always want you to know that I will be by your side no matter what decision you make. Even if your done fighting, which will be one of the most difficult days of my life, I will still support you and cherish how long you fought for. I don’t want to see you in pain, I don’t want to you to suffer any longer.
Thank you for being my best friend and my biggest supporter in everything I do. You are the reason why I continue to push myself to do better and be better. I want to make you proud and I hope to continue to make you as proud as you say I do.
When it is your time to go, there is one thing I want you to know — you are the most important person I have in my life. You mean the world to me, and then some. I can never put into words how much you mean to me, there’s simple too much to say. What I can say, though, is that you are the strongest person I know. You continue to push your body to it’s breaking point and, to keep me from worrying, you never complain. I see how much pain you are in, and yet you still put a smile on your face and tell me how much better you’re feeling. Thank you for keeping me strong. Thank you for making one of the biggest impacts on the person I am today. Thank you for being my best friend.
