Dear Gal Pal,
What would I do without you? I ask myself this everyday, many times a day actually. I don't know, and I don't particularly want to find out either. I look back and I can't believe all the years we missed out on each other and I cringe, think about all the great times we could have but didn't, all the memories we'd look back on and laugh about. I get sad when I think about the times we could have had, but nothing makes me happier than the times I did get to share with you and the times I will continue to share with you.
It's silly to think about now, that we missed out on how many years not being friends because we believed we hated one another. We didn't even try to be friends, except that one time, which is disappointing. But, I'm so glad I had that class with you. I guess sitting with the girl you thought hated you is better than sitting with someone you don't know at all, right? I'll always thank 11th grade english class, seventh period for bringing me to you, and realizing that neither of us ever said we hated the other, that's a good start too.
And though I can wish about the times we missed out on, you came into my life and you haven't left, and there's nothing I can be more thankful for. Since you have been in my life, everything has been so much better. You are the best person I could ever ask for, I'm just so blessed to have you in my life.
So thank you for being my gal pal, my go to girl. Thank you for supporting me in everything I do, encouraging me to keep going when I feel like giving up, and celebrating with me at the end. Thank you for telling me that you're proud of me, and thank you for actually meaning it. Thank you for listening to me say the same thing over and over, on cycle for hours and hours nonstop and never saying "SHUT UP!!!!!" but answering and listening and most of all caring. And thank you for not saying, "I told you so," even though you told me so. So, thank you for your patience.
Thank you for accepting me as part of your family. For inviting me over for picnics, for game nights, for evenings sitting on your deck playing mancala, for movies that we never fail to talk through, for inviting me on your family vacations. I'm so lucky to have found such a wonderful person with such a great heart and found a family so accepting and welcoming of me.
Thank you for making me feel at home whenever I'm with you. Thank you for being there for me, no matter what. Thank you for being you. And most importantly, thank you for being apart of my life, and never leaving my side. To have found someone as great as you as you is nearly impossible, so to have you as my very best gal pal, thank you.
I'd be lost without you. Thank you for all the memories we have and thank you for all the memories we will make.
I love you,
Your Gal Pal
