Best Friend (noun): The people you rely on, laugh with, rant to, and trust with your heart and soul. The people who helped you live your best memories not watching you but running right alongside you.
Sister (noun): The person you can lean on and depend on, a blood born relative or a best friend.
To my crazy, sassy, moody, loving, and silly amigos,
If you are reading this letter, safe to say that you have been a major part in my high school career, and I hope to God that I was a major part of yours. Or, you have someone who has impacted your life the same way my best friends have impacted mine.
Together we have survived the halls of high school, and five strong we have landed ourselves in this crazy cross road where we were forced to say goodbye. I read somewhere that it's crazy when you leave a place, not because you will never go to that place again but because you will never be the same person you were when you return. I hope this isn’t the case.
The bond we have is special. We are sisters in every sense of the term, even if blood does not agree. You are my non-biological sisters. I have laughed with you, fought with you, sung with you, and survived those awkward teenage years with you. You have been my rock, even with the sprinkles of daily salt and sass. I don’t care how many new friends you make. I don’t care how full your list of availability gets. I don’t care how long it takes for you to return my calls or texts. I just want you to remember to save a little room for me because I know that I have a very special spot reserved for you in my heart and in my mind.
Although the busy college life may not allow us to talk every day, I want you all to remember that I’m just a phone call, text message, or video chat away. I want you to know that I will always be your cheerleader, and your biggest supporter. Just don’t go forgetting me because I know that I’ll never ever be able to forget you.
Sincerely,
Your Best Friend
