Dear Best Friend,
Thank - you for being my person and everything in between.
Sometimes, I forget I haven't known you my entire life because you've heard every story, accident, friendship, relationship and challenge I have faced. You know me better than I know myself. After a long day, fight or embarrassing moment, there is no one I rather tell than you. Before I begin a sentence, you are able to tell if I'm okay based on my inflection. You know that I put on a hard exterior when I'm breaking down inside. When nothing seems to be going in my favor, you're able to put it in perspective and make my worries seem small. You have taught me that no amount of gifts, advice or words can replace being there for each other. You've taught me that it's not about where you are but who you're with. Through knowing you, I have gotten to know myself.
After countless 3:00 A.M. phone calls, tears, and laughing until our stomachs hurt, I truly consider you family. I know all your peeves, passions, and goals and value them as if they are my own. We have met each others parents, siblings, and extended families. Throughout our friendship, I have gained another family that has welcomed me with open arms, respect and kindness. Not a phone call goes by without my mother asking how you're doing because she knows we give each other live updates, no matter the subject.
Although you may think your effort goes unnoticed, I am grateful for all the times you lifted my spirits in times of need. You're the first to tell me when I mess up and the first to forgive me. Thank you for being a constant source of happiness, support, and laughter. When life throws curveballs, I rest assured because no matter the outcome we have each other to lean on. After all, there isn't much a little wine, laughter and music can't cure.
So here's to a couple years of friendship and a lifetime to go. I cannot wait for the mischief, adventure, and laughter to come.
Sincerely,
Your biggest fan, supporter, and most of all, best friend.
