Dear Best Friend,

When we first met, I instantly knew you'd be a big part of my life. While we hung out a lot in the beginning, it quickly turned into so much more and for that, I am forever grateful.

Not only do I love the person you are, I love the person I am when I am around you.

No matter what mood I'm in, you never fail to make me laugh or put me in a better mood. I probably haven't told you before, but I envy you for being such an outgoing, strong person. You light up any room you walk in and are always the life of the party (literally.)

I love that I can always come to you for anything and never feel judged, no matter how dumb I can be sometimes. You are my go-to person. Lunch, dinner, movie nights, going out, silly FaceTime calls, you name it. I know that I can always count on you to be there for me and I hope you know that I will always be there for you, too.

I feel like over the past few months we have definitely gotten a lot closer and our friendship continues to grow every day. I cannot express how happy I am for you and how proud I am of you for the person you are allowing yourself to be.

College is tough and life is crazy sometimes but you have helped me through so many hard times and I don't know how to thank you enough for just being yourself and being there for me. You changed my life for the better and I can say without a doubt that my life wouldn't be the same without you in it.

We have so many memories together and so many more to come because I love doing life with you! I can't wait to see where life takes me, with you right by my side!

I love you, Alex!!!

Love always,

Your best friend and biggest supporter

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
