An Open Letter To Boys Who Let The Good Girls Walk Away

Find a girl who likes you just the way you are – the good and the bad, doesn’t matter to her; in her eyes, you’re the man she wants. Find a girl who makes you laugh more than you should because a sense of humor is everything. Find a girl who makes and encourages you to be everything you can be and more. Her interest in your well being and health says so much. Find a girl who goes to the store with you to help you choose which deodorant smells the best. You’ll grab her waist in the store and apologize for being “too much” in public, but she’ll love every second of it. Find a girl who could do nothing with you all day and be content. Find a girl who gives you kisses for no reason because one day you’ll miss those. Find a girl who can't stop laughing when you sing "photograph" by Ed Sheeran in your best English accent. Find a girl who is just as strange as you in the best of ways. Find a girl who thinks it's cute when you snore. Find a girl whose heart breaks for you when you face struggle. Find a girl who thinks organizing your room on a Friday night is just as fun as going to the bars because as long as you’re with them you’re having a great time. Find a girl who would choose to chase chickens around your backyard over a dinner date. Find a girl who will gladly stand in the rain as long as it means she’s with you. Find a girl who listens to you talk about your childhood. Find a girl who challenges you and shakes things up every now and then.

Find that girl who begs for your t-shirt and always keeps it to have a little piece of you when she misses you. Find a girl who can’t stand the thought of you with someone else. And when she assumes the worst, know that it’s because she just worries because she cares. Always know that her heart is always in the right place.

Just say okay when you find the girl who enjoys the little things about you. Give a little, take a little. Forget bad timing – there is never a good time and if you walk away from the girl who cares about you, you’re walking away from an opportunity of bliss. You’re young, emotions run high, and everything seems so uncertain about your future, but what if you forget the future long enough to realize that it’s just as important who wants to stand by your side? What happens if who is by your side makes everything better even if time is limited sometimes?

Hoping and believing in the best – something that most people don’t do. Optimism and reality don’t go hand in hand, but what if you took a chance on her, the girl who actually earnestly wants you? Take a second and pause – the girl who cares about you, she won’t always care about you if you walk away from her. Because to her if you walk away, it means everything meant nothing, all the days and nights you spent together leave her unsure of what went wrong. Leave her concerned about her meaning barely anything to you.

Pick up the phone. Call her. Drive to her house. Do something you wouldn’t usually do because the day she decides you were a mistake will eventually come.

Forget where it could all go but live in the moment with her. The notion of people being led back to each other if things are meant to be is true in a lot of cases, but if you have a girl worth it, why would you allow time to pass without her?

Sometimes you have to say okay and take a chance because some people are worth holding on to.

So go, buy some flowers and say those three words - I want you.

Try because if you don't, you'll wish you had.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
