Dear all,
I sit back some days during a grueling week of school and reflect on the things I have done in the past. Every time, my mind wanders back to the room where we always met. That week was one of the most memorable times of my life. We'd always be together, never apart, whether it be on the basketball court or in the hangout area, playing foosball or air hockey. There would always be eventful days, during which competition would come to fruition. We'd joke around with Santa, our adult supervisor, and tell the dirtiest jokes whenever the time was right. Those times bring laughter to my mind whenever I think about them.
From each morning to late at night, I would always grow excited over the anticipation of spending more time with you guys. I cherish those times we spent, and I will never forget the "#cruiselife" we all came to love. From the twelfth deck to the sixth deck, there was always something to do, whether it be playing shuffleboard or eating at the various venues available. We'd always get ice cream and then head outside to take in the brisk Alaskan air.
The fondest memories I have of our short lived time together was our foosball tournament, where we fiercely spun the black and red figures, trying to strike the small white ball into each others' nets. We came up with the craziest of team names, with my own team consisting of four Asian males: the "Blazin' Asians." My team advanced all the way to the finals against "De Sack of Potatoes," at which point we fell due to self destruction. However, it was a duel worthy of professional play, with sweat shed and war cries sounded. It was truly an event to remember.
We never really talked too much about our personal lives back home, just some basic "Where do you live?" and "How old are you?" inquiries. I regret not being able to know you all more, but maybe that can be saved for a time when we could meet once again. However, I do not regret a single thing that happened during our journey, from the ice breakers we played on our first day to our dance off on the last night. I truly wish that we could meet another time, and perhaps relive some of those memories. I understand that we won't be able to have everybody, but having even just a couple of people coming together would be nice.
As we parted ways, I came to the realization that I would not see many of you ever again. I looked back as we disembarked from the cruise, thinking about how quickly the week passed by. But then I remember one of you approaching me, wishing me a safe trip back, and telling me how he would not forget these memories. It was then when I realized that I should cherishing those memories we made during this unforgettable trip.
Long live our #cruiselife!
