Dear Casts and Directors of Past Musicals at Division Avenue High School,
Let me just start off by saying thank you for 4 years of happiness and laughter. Thank you for pushing me to the best that I can possibly be. I have learned a great deal of tips and tricks of performing through my experiences at division. There are so many things that I’m going to miss when I head off to college, like all the inside jokes and the countless hours we stay after school to get the show ready for performance.
This is especially for the staff. Both of you hold a special place in my heart. Not only did you watch me grow up from a measly little 6th grader, you helped shape me into the performer I am today and I cannot be anything but grateful. Mr. Nolin, I don't only see you as a Director. I see you as a good friend of mine. The past 7 years have been fantastic and I couldn't ask for a better person to work with. You'll stop me in the hallway at random just to show me some woman belting her face off that you found on YouTube. You're always so much fun to be around and I can speak for everyone when I say that we love you. I really hope to see you on a Broadway stage in my lifetime because you deserve it. Ms. LoGiudice, what can I say Lo, you are one of the smartest and funniest Choreographer/Producer I have ever worked with.
ADS, ADS, ADS, ADS, AND MORE ADS.
For the first few months of rehearsals you'd always get so mad at me for not having my ads in because I never handed anything in on time... EVER. I was your biggest pain in the butt, but I apologize. This year alone made me realize how much potential you saw in me, with the dancing for "West Side Story." I still remember the face you made when I finally got the leap in the beginning of the prologue. Your face was priceless. I’m going to miss so many little quirks about the both of you. I will definitely try and keep in touch with you and tell you about my future shows. Also a thank you to Mrs. Levenberg and Mr. Fitzpatrick, for their skills and talents of vocal directing and accompaniment. Also, Mr. Bastone, for his excellent work with the pit every year. I couldn’t have asked for a better Directorial staff to work with and you all hold a very special place in my heart.
To My former cast-mates,from Peter Pan to West Side, I honestly don't think I would've made it through high school without you. You guys have become my family and I love each and every one of you. From Peter Pan, to West Side Story, you all make me extremely happy whenever I see you outside of school in school, or when I just reminisce about past shows. You all have so much talent and I’m so glad I got to be there to witness such talent enter and leave the stage at division. You all left behind a legacy that people had to live up to in order to make the next year show better. We are together for so long (4-5 Months) and we all just become to close like a family. We all had our arguments here and there, but also; we all had this great chemistry and a love for theatre.
I'm going to miss the endless laughter and happiness I had every day walking into Division's auditorium for rehearsals, or the lunch breaks during Saturday rehearsals, and getting made fun of for ALWAYS ripping my costume, Schwamping, and so many things. I know I annoyed a lot of people for being so incredibly loud when I speak or just annoying them for no reason, but I put all my trust with you guys, you have made my life so much better and I couldn't thank you more for that. To next year’s seniors, the Saturday night show is going to make you cry so much, IM WARNING YOU NOW. So, I wish you all the best of luck in whatever you do, if you’re still in high school, love every minute of the shows because soon it'll be over, and if you’re in college, may you have the best of luck with your lives and future endeavors. God Speed.
Love,
Domenick Napoli
P.S. Riff or Ruff???
