To my pledge sisters,
This is it. Our journey that we started so many weeks ago is coming to an end. It seems like only yesterday that we were all going through recruitment, waiting nervously, wondering if any of the sororities would like us. The day we all received our bids still feels like a dream. Running to our new family was such a rush, and while one part of our journey came to a close that day, the second part was beginning, and we had no idea what was in store for us the moment we opened those envelopes and said yes to becoming sisters.
It's crazy to think that we have come so far from where we started. It seemed like our process would never end, but here it is, as we are about to take our last few days as new members. I will always cherish this time we have had together. The diner runs after events and helping each other find our cars when we forgot where we parked them. Waiting almost an hour for the buses at night together and complaining about how it was too cold to wait. Taking over Applebee's at midnight after driving the waiters crazy with all the separate bills. And most importantly, helping each other study for our tests and supporting one another when we needed it most. These are the first of our memories that we have as soon-to-be sisters. If I'm being honest, I already consider you girls my sisters.
I couldn't have imagined a better group of girls to go on this journey with. Through all the meetings and events we attended, the struggles of learning all the information when at times it seemed way too much, we pushed through. I am so proud of all of us for all that we have accomplished. We ignored the doubts of some of those around us. Their wrong assumptions of Greek life, their belief that joining a sorority would damage us rather than build us up into even more incredible women than we already are. We faced many questions from people who didn't understand why we made the decision to go Greek, but we overcame all of that. You girls are the strongest and most amazing I know, never forget that.
Getting to know each of you has been a blessing and I cannot wait to get to know you all even more. Even though we have only known each other for a short amount of time, you all have a place in my heart that not only will last throughout college, but the rest of my life. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us. This is only the beginning.
Here's to becoming official sisters and here's to Beta Iota.
Sincerely,
A girl that has found her home away from home. LITP.
