A Letter Of Appreciation For The Best Cousins In The World

Looking back, most people have made some of their greatest memories while along side their best friends. If you're as lucky as me, you can say that you have made most of these memories with not only your friends but with your cousins as well. They were my first real friends and have made a tremendous impact on me while growing up. They have been there for me from the beginning and I could not be more grateful for them. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends, but my cousins will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm writing this letter not only for my cousins and I, but to everyone who shares a special bond with their cousins.

My dearest cousins,

I know while you're all reading this, some of you are going to complain that you didn't get your own article or shout out where I can praise each and everyone one of you. Unfortunately, there aren't enough hours in a day for me to sit here and write about all of you individually. Just know that the overall message in this letter is thank you.

Thank you for the some of the greatest memories that I will forever hold close to my heart. From the beginning, our parents have drilled into our heads how important family is. They say blood is thicker than water and that cannot be truer. Friends come and go, but family is truly forever. Seeing each other on a weekly basis has certainly come with many moments that have created the fondest memories. You guys have made my life so enjoyable and I wouldn't trade these memories for the world.

Thank you all for being my built-in best friends. You guys have been there since birth and I'm so lucky to have such a strong relationship with all of you. I can't even count how many friends hang outs I've skipped over the years just because I wanted to hang out with you guys instead. Although we may all have completely different interests, everything comes full circle and we're always there for each other. You've accepted me for who I am, the good and the bad, and my gratitude for you all is everlasting.

Thank you for being my go-to's. Whenever I needed to make a spontaneous trip to the mall or just wanted to grab food, you guys were always the first ones I would call. Every single one of you is down to do anything at any time. Hanging out with you guys is so easy because I can be myself and don't have to worry about impressing you.

Lastly, thank you for being there. Life has thrown so many struggles our way and if it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't have been able to survive. Your constant love and support have fueled me throughout the years and it has not gone unnoticed. We always have each other's backs but, hey, that's what family is for right?

Overall, I just want to let you guys know that I love you with all my heart. Without all of you, my life would not be nearly as fun or chaotic. Again thank you for being my best friends forever.

Love always,

Jake

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
