You’ve grown up so quickly; I can’t believe you are already a teenager. I feel like I was just asking mom if I could feed you your baby food and asking to hold you whenever I got home from school. But, you’re not that little baby anymore, even though you’re the baby of the family. You have so much personality! You are joyful and you love life, this is something that I catch myself forgetting to do. Thank you for showing me that every day is a new day and that I should enjoy it. Please never lose your joy and positivity because it is one of your greatest and most admirable qualities.
You have so much kindness in your heart, little brother. You really do love others and care for them, even when you don’t want to show it. But don’t be afraid to tell people how much you love them, sometimes they need to hear you say it, even if they know that’s how you feel. Your compassion is inspiring and reassuring.
Don’t let your middle school years define who you are. You don’t have to fit in with the “cool kids,” because honestly, they won’t be cool in a few years. Spend time with Mom and Dad, call our grandparents, respect authority, work hard in school, read your Bible, pray continuously and do your best in everything; these are the things that you should be focused on.
Don’t worry too much. Don’t be so focused on making it to high school and then college just because you have older sisters and they are already there, enjoy your life now. I wish I could be back at home eating family dinners with you and watching "Full House." Enjoy these fun times in your life when you don’t have to stress and worry about the future, I wish I could be there to enjoy them with you.
Don’t think that I don’t miss you. We were the best of buds last year and I cherish those fun moments that we had together. I wish that we could still listen to Taylor Swift in the car on the way to school and get frozen yogurt in the afternoon. I miss you very much and I think about you, even while I am away. Just know that I am a text or a FaceTime away; I still want to be your bud.
One more thought, I am so proud of you. You have taught me so many things, even though you are younger than me. I love the joy in your eyes and your desire to endure and succeed. Don’t get too wrapped up in these middle school years, focus on the things that matter. Turn to Him and He will direct your paths, now and forever. I am continuing to pray for you; I want you to be the strong, friendly, compassionate, obedient, respectful, and loving young man that I know you can be. You are such a blessing to me and I am so glad that I get to be your older sister, even if I don’t say that to you enough.
Love,
Your Number One Fan
