Dear baby girl,
Welcome to the world! As you open your brand new eyes you will discover the joys and wonders of the world. You have just become the newest member of our family and we couldn’t be happier. You had a tough journey to get here, but on this beautiful Sunday morning you have arrived fashionably early. You are now the newest Deeter woman and you now have some pretty big shoes to fill.
Deeter women are some of the toughest women on the planet, just look at your mommy, grandma and your coolest aunt. While you grew strong, your mommy worked so hard to keep you safe and healthy. She ate salad after salad instead of delicious pizza just to make sure you grew into a strong Deeter woman. (You will learn what pizza is and how much of a sacrifice that was as soon as your little teeth come in.) Your mom even spent two days in the hospital patiently waiting for your arrival.
Your grandma is quite possibly the smartest woman on earth and she knows everything! Pulling a fast one on her will be impossible. When your mom was in the hospital bringing you into this world, your grandma was her biggest supporter and her toughest fighter. Any time your mom needed anything, grandma T was on it, even if it meant yelling at some nurses.
Her 30 years as a pharmacist will come in handy anytime you find a weird rash (trust me it has happened to me). Never hesitate to ask her anything because chances are she knows the answer. Even though your cool aunts are technically second cousins, we are the closest thing to aunts you’re going to get. We will spoil you to no end and be the best babysitters ever. Growing up we will be there at every birthday party, every holiday and every big event in your life (we may be crazy but you're stuck with us forever).
The rest of our crazy family can’t wait to meet you! You are the first baby and 2016 will be marked with so many firsts. All our family gatherings will now be centered around you. Of course you will be showered with so much love and attention that you aren’t going to know what to do with yourself. Deeter family Christmas will never be the same! Now when we go out to eat (no one cooks on this side of the family) we will need a highchair and we will all laugh when you get food everywhere.
You will be celebrated when you take your first steps and say your first words. Thousands of pictures will document your entire young life (sorry for the naked bathtub pictures in advance). Get ready for a life full of joy, love and cats.
