Dear Mom,
Now that freshman year is over, I just wanted to share all the things that I have dreadfully missed about you and home and how thankful I am for all the things you do for me, even if we're so far away.
We are like best friends, so I thank you for listening to me and all problems throughout this year and helping me come up with a solution every time.
Thank you for always having my back, no matter the situation.
Thank you for always telling me you are proud of the things I have done, and the things I am going to do.
Thank you for believing in my dream, because it is also now your own.
Thank you for always treating me fairly and not pushing me too hard, just hard enough.
Thank you for teaching me the importance of self-independence and to always work hard for myself.
Thank you for always having the right answer.
Thank you for showing me how to be independent so I didn't completely freak out at college, well, sort of.
Thank you for always accepting my calls and texts, even if they're at bad times.
Thank you for being my biggest role model.
Thank you for having a great sense of humor.
Thank you for liking all the same things that I do.
Thank you for always putting me before yourself, even if you don't have to.
Thank you for always being willing to make my favorite foods when I'm home.
Thank you for loving everything about me and never judging me.
Thank you for constantly reminding me that you love me.
Thank you for being weird with me.
Thank you for always telling me when I'm wrong in a nice way.
Thank you for always hanging out with me.
Thank you for knowing that school is hard.
Thank you for being just as excited to see me whether it's been one week or one month.
Thank you for being just as excited as I am about new opportunities I get.
Thank you for putting up with my unrealistic financial needs.
Thank you for never telling me what I needed to do with my life.
Thank you for being the best mom I could ask for.
Thank you, mom, for being you and letting me be me and being my best friend every day, you'll never know how much I appreciate the things you do for me, I love you.
Love,
Your daughter
