Where Are All The Funny Guys On Tinder?

Guys with a sense of humor – where are you? The girls who appreciate humor have been on Tinder, eternally swiping left in a hopeless search for someone to make them laugh, to no avail.

However, this week a beacon of light shone upon the Florida Tindersphere when Twitter user @rllynatalia shared her discovery of a comedic candidate on Tinder named Jared--see Natalia's viral tweet here: "how is tinder free." Many of the tweet's replies were from college-aged ladies excited to find that someone could be so good-looking and funny without being famous or taken. Well, listen up, gentlemen, Jared can't be the only outspoken and funny guy out there. Yet somehow he is stealing the attention of college girls across the nation. So where are the rest of you to compete with him?

Jared's cheesy, yet funny approach to his Tinder page has caused girls surrounding his school, the University of Florida, to break a sweat trying to find him. If you think you've recently seen a girl scrolling through some old photos on her phone, you're wrong. She's on tinder, desperately trying to make a match with Jared. There is probably some girl out there right now, making an extensive drive down dreadful I-75 in order to be within his Tinder radius because she is that dedicated to finding him. Let me tell you your reality, guys: right now Jared is winning at life and you need to figure out how to beat him.

Besides, UF students have enough going for them as it is, and now they have a viral Tinder user to brag about?! As if they needed another reason to be arrogant. Come on UCF and Rollins guys, get with the program. Orlando needs a Jared of its own.

Sure, Jared could possibly be just another player, but at least he's not afraid to show that he has a sense of humor. I'm no love expert, but I'm pretty sure that guys get more girls by being confident and making girls laugh. So if you're going to come off as a f*boy on Tinder anyway, at least have some fun with your profile. You've seen Superbad, right? If Jonah Hill can get Emma Stone based on his sense of humor, so can you. Trust me, it won't kill you to come off as more than some basic guy in a Columbia shirt and Sperry's.

How can you make yourself an irresistible right-swipe? Actually put some thought into your bio. Post some interesting photos. Give the ladies something to talk about. Make some matches. Have some GIF wars. Fall in love with the one that appreciates your humor the most. Thank me later.

And for those of you whose bio says he won't fight at Cheesecake, you are not doing yourself justice. So do the ladies a favor. Delete your profile. Move across the country under a new identity. Start a new life. Move back home as a decent human being. Create a new profile following my guidelines. Win the Tinder battle. Obviously I am being dramatic, but, hopefully, you understand that girls are beyond tired of seeing the overly-used Drake lyric.

You're probably saying to yourself that girls should take my advice about showing their true personalities too. Even I could use my own advice. Either way, here's my point: the ladies are out there searching for Jared from Tinder when they could be searching for you. Jared has style. Jared has charisma. Be like Jared.

Sincerely,

Girl Who Appreciates Humor

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
