GLittle,
From day one of hearing Little talk about you, I have been stalking you to pieces and now I finally get to call you one of my own; the perfect addition to my forever growing Family of Southern Belles. You're kinda the cutest thing alive and pretty much perfect. You just jumped (literally, in our arms) and right into our lives and I couldn’t be more excited for our times ahead!
Just a few things to go over, new love:
Unfortunately, I’m only going to be a part of your in-chapter experience for a short amount of time, so I want you to use me as a resource. I want to teach you everything I was taught by my Grand Big so you can someday soon pass things along to your own Little ones down the road. There is just oh-so-much I want to teach you, but for now I want to focus on one thing, G-Baby, and that is that I never want anyone to dull your sparkle. Your love for our chapter is seriously the sweetest thing in the world; I hope that you never lose your sense of wonder and awe. Now, just because I am going to join the adult-alum world soon, just remember that I am always here for you.
G, I also need a few things from you. First, I’m probably going to be tagging along to a lot of your dates with your Big and definitely watching over you ... don’t be mad! I just love you! Second, please, dear God, keep me young. I mean it! I need you to drag me out when I say I’m old. Help me live up my time with you. I need you to remind me how important our sisterhood is when I get annoyed because I have been a part of the chapter for so long, and remind me that change is always a good thing. And, of course, I need you to take care of my Little, your Big, when I can’t be there. There are lots of things that she is going to go to you for instead of me, and even though I’m a little bit jealous, I know she is in the absolute best hands.
The relationship I have with my fam is SO important to me, and I am so excited to start forming a relationship with you, too, G! I am even more excited to watch you and my Little, form the relationship that I have made with my Big and my Little as well. There is just something so special about these relationships, and the fact that I get to share this with you means the world to me.
Last but certainly not least, there are going to be times in life where you’re going to go to your Big and she’s probably going to say “no” (because I know I did), but now I get to be the fun one! So G-Baby, remember one thing ... when Big says NO, come ask G-Big!
All My Love,
Your GBig
