Only a handful of people get to have a roommate that is also their best friend. I just happened to get lucky.
You might not have been my roommate from the start, but I wouldn't change a thing. We didn't become roommates until the start of second semester, but it was a huge blessing to be able to switch rooms.
I have had such an amazing time my second half of freshman year of college. I feel like I can easily attribute that to you. My first semester was a little rough -- you know all about that.
We are so alike, I swear we were meant to be sisters. It's almost a little bit scary. Every dumb decision you make, is also made by me in different context. For example, boys. I think that's all I have to say.
We have the same taste in music, TV shows, shoes, you name it. It's scary how alike we are, but I love it so much.
As I watch you while I write this, I can't help but smile. I'm so glad I found my person. My best friend.
We constantly bicker and that is something I genuinely cherish. Whether it's about what time we leave for our 8 am, what brand your hair straightener is, or what seat we each sit in on the way to the store, I wouldn't change a thing. I won't be able to bicker with you that much this summer because of the 3-hour distance drive, so I want to get enough of these moments in as possible.
I said that we were scarily alike, but I think that's the wrong adverb. We're beautifully alike. Yeah, there might be some people think that the two of us together are annoying or they might not like us, but I wouldn't want anyone else to be goofy with. I don't care what they think, we are two peas in a pod. Salt and pepper.
A lot of people meet their best friend for life in college, and I hope that's true for us. I want to stay best friends forever, I want to live in the same neighborhood and I want your kids to call me "Aunty." I want to be the sister you've never had.
I might get angry at you sometimes and I might need time to cool off, but that doesn't mean I don't love you. I wouldn't ask anyone else for relationship advice, and I wouldn't want anyone else to tell me what shoes to wear with my outfit.
I love being goofy with you, I love shopping with you, I love it all. You saved me from a lot of bad things when I moved into this room. I feel like you were my ticket out of hell. It was perfect, and I'm forever grateful I got the chance to be your freshman year roommate. Now we get to be sophomore year apartment roommates, and probably junior and senior year too.
Thank you for not hating me. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being my best friend. I love you.
