A Letter To My Dad From His Appreciative Daughter
Danielle DiFeo

Dear Daddy,

It’s been rough between us since I became a teenager. The fights and everything, they all were just a part of life. But there’s one thing I’ve always wanted to say. Thank you, Daddy. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for helping me with my car, even though you hate Ford. Thank you for fixing up my old car after my first accident. Thank you for coming to my rescue after each accident and being there for me. Thank you for calming me down when I was hysterically crying.

You’ve done so much more than that for me. I never realized how much you worked to help give us what we wanted. And that car you were going to surprise me with for Christmas last year? Thank you for that. I appreciate you, Daddy. I don’t think you hear it enough but you really are so wonderful. You’re there when a guy hurts me and I just want to cry. You’re there when I cry about Mom and how much I miss the family.

I remember that day last year when the divorce was happening between you and Mom. I remember just sitting there crying with you about it. I remember you saying how much you loved me and how proud you were of me. I remember that you just hugged me so tight. I love you so much Daddy. You don’t even know. I’m so thankful and appreciative of you.

From the fun things we did together when I was a kid, to the lunch dates we have now between our schedules, I couldn’t ask for more. Since I’ve grown up, we got a little distant. You don’t know exactly how to relate, but you try your best. You’ve shown me so many things in life to help me. You’ve shown me tough love to help me learn life and become a stronger person. The things you’ve taught me I’ve passed on to others. I’m so blessed and lucky to have you as a father. I’m so proud to call you my Daddy.

Love Forever,

Your Daughter

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
