A Letter To My Brother Who Is Graduating High School
Rebecca Stefano

Dear Little Brother,

Well, it's that time of the year/ your life. You are graduating from High School! You are the last one in the family to graduate and go off to college! You have been so successful during High School, you were a part of activities and a HUGE role model! You had passion in what you loved to do, and you didn't let anyone get in your way. You had so many supporters through your four years! I couldn't be more proud of your big sister!

Mom and Dad have been by your side forever! They never gave up on you, and neither did your sisters. Little brother, there are so many things I could say about you. You are a shy kid, but you never let that stop you! You are always outgoing whenever you want to be. You work hard in your classes, and you are always focused (when you need/want to be.) That's a huge thing you are gonna need/use at (in) College.

You have learned a lot from your four years in High School, you learned how to be strong you went through a lot of struggles, and problems, but you learned how to get through them; strength. You learned how to get out of your comfort zone, you did a lot of activities that you wouldn't have done as a freshman. You learned responsibility, you took leadership in activities, you helped anyone who needed to be helped. Those things you learned are wonderful because that is what helped you conquer High School!

You are finally spreading your wings and leaving the house and living somewhere for a while to gain a wonderful education. Just a few tips though before you do. I know you are very eager to leave the house to be on your own, do your own thing, and learn new stuff. BEFORE you do all the exciting things I want to give you some more of my guidance as one of your older sisters.

Don't get distracted! It is an exciting time when you first start college but don't get too excited! You want to concentrate on your class work! It is okay to have friendships and some fun, but don't have TOO much fun. ;-) Join activities! I know you already have one activity picked out that you will be doing, BUT try some more out! Don't limit yourself to just one activity (just don't do TOO many activities). They are great ways of making new friends, and trying to find a new way of living life!

Little Brother, I couldn't be more proud of you than I am right now! When you walk that stage in June Mom, Dad, your relatives, friends, and especially your sisters will be yelling and screaming for you! Mom will have her handkerchief out crying. Dad will have his smart phone out trying to record this special moment while he tries not to cry. Then your first older sister who will be taking all the photos with her expensive camera. Then there's me; crying my eyes out and screaming, and making a fool of myself, but for the first time I won't care, because my little brother graduated High School.

I Love You,

Your Sister.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
