A Letter To All Future Bigs

Dear Youngest Pledge Class,

You were chosen about a year ago to join your sorority. You were chosen based on a variety of things, but most of all because of your loving personality. The girls in the sorority believed you were a necessity to their family and gave you a bid. From that moment on you signed away your life as a GDI and became part of Greek life, and realized you were going home to the girls that are now your family.

That was a year ago, and now it seems unimaginable that you ever lived without them. You have developed strong bonds, and can't wait to make 60 new bonds with the incoming pledge class. However, it is important to keep in mind that these girls are not just your new pledge class, but are also your future littles. Much as your big did with you, you will instantly fall in love with your little like a mother does with her child, and your bond will be unbreakable.

This upcoming pledge class will have more to offer you than you can think of. These girls will look up to you and be your best friend. They will be intelligent, kind, loving, and think the world of you. They will not judge you, but instead will come to you for advice about anything and everything. They will trust you to guide and stick up for them in times of need. This new pledge class will be your pride and joy because you helped hand pick these girls to be your sisters, and you are so happy with the choices you have made.

Most of all, these girls will be your children, and your best friends. When you find your little you will be so happy that you'll tell everyone in your GroupMe to stay away because you have dibs. She will be your other half, and Big Little Reveal will be your favorite day of the year. She will become your child, your best friend, and sometimes your mother.

Right now it is difficult to think of this, and it can even stimulate butterflies in your stomach. You must realize how exciting this is though, because soon you will not be the youngest pledge class. Yes, part of you is sad, however you will be a big and that is the best thing of all. Your family will grow and cherish everyone you bring in. So, as you go through Rush, think, 'Could this be my little?'

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
