Lessons 'One Tree Hill' Has Taught Me

“It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re seventeen and planning for someday. And then quietly and without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And that someday is yesterday. And this is your life.” ― Nathan Scott

One Tree Hill is one of those shows that stays with you forever. No matter how many times you watch the same episode you will cry even more or be just as happy because the two wanted together from the beginning finally make it happen. There are so many things I have learned from this show so I wanted to share my top few.

1. Teaching me to take risks and be bold and outgoing.

2. To know that I only deserve a love like Haley and Nathan’s.

3. To face the mistakes I have made in the past and learn from them.

4. To believe in those you love and never give up in them.

5. To chase after your dreams, no matter how unrealistic they may be.

6. Change is a good thing. It may take some time but it’s worth it. So wait.

7. Do not try and find reasons to give up, look for reasons to fight.

8. Find the one you ‘want standing next to you when all of your dreams come true.’

9. It is more than okay to cry.

10. Don’t forget where and who you come from.

11. Family and friends are some of the most important things in the world. So treat them that way.

12. There are places ‘where everything’s better and everything’s safe.’

There will always be a special place in my heart for One Tree Hill and the stories it tells. It provides great life lessons and really teaches you great values when it comes to those you love.

Always and forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
