Recently I binge watched the 7 incredible seasons of Parks and Recreation. I had always been iffy about mockumentary style television series, to the point that I've never seen an episode of The Office, yes yes I know, crazy right?

Well winter break marks the perfect time to start something new, and so I dove head first into the town of Pawnee where I fell in love with the Department of Parks and Recreation. Watching the show I laughed more than I have in what feels like forever. The show brought me laughter and happiness, but most of all, it brought me a new kind of hero; Leslie Knope, portrayed by Amy Poehler, quickly became the type of person that I can only hope to be like, all because of her:

1. Her tenacity

2. How much she values friendship

3. Her help is selfless

4. She's as annoying as a person should be (sometimes more)

5. Her fixation on butts

6. Her big heart

7. She refuses to fail at achieving her goals

8. Values teamwork

9. Ideal Feminist

10. Just plain hilarious

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.
