Finally, after years of nominations and countless memes, our boy Leo DiCaprio has clinched that Oscar win with his role of the vengeful Hugh Glass in "The Revenant." And needless to say, the internet is freaking out.

And with a moment 20 years in the making, in true Leonardo DiCaprio fashion, he made the moment about more than himself
After giving the obligatory thanks to his cast, crew, and family, DiCaprio rounded out his speech by mentioning that his character's story is about the relationship between man and the natural world. By doing so, he aimed to highlight the bigger issue of global warming. He mentioned that production for "The Revenant" had to move to the "southernmost tip of this planet just to be able to find snow."
"Climate change is real, it is happening right now," he said, adding, "It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating."
Coming from a year where temperatures have hit an all-time high, it's only appropriate that a self-labeled environmentalist (no, seriously, check his Twitter bio) would use such a historic moment to talk about global warming.

Jack and Rose forever.
But in all seriousness, for a day 8,054 days in the making, Leo's win was everything he (and we) could have ever hoped for.
"Let us not take this planet for granted," he said. "I do not take tonight for granted."
