Hart of Dixie is a binge-worthy series on Netflix that has so graciously provided us with Miss Lemon Breeland. On most days, I find that Lemon is my spirit animal with her inability to mask her feelings via facial expressions.

Though Bluebell, Alabama and my hometown are very different, Lemon and I are very much the same... you'll hate her at first but then she becomes your favorite when all is said and done. Here is a first look at what a college student feels when they come home from break via Lemon Breeland.

1. When you see that your ex-boyfriend grew out his hair, got 14 tattoos, and you have NO IDEA what you were thinking.

WHY? WHY? WHY? What the hell were you thinking?!?!

2. When your mom asks when you are going to start working again...

I'd never actually slap her, but let me just hang on to this no job thing for a while... It's like an extended vacation!

3. When your college friends aren't there so you have to hang out with your old high school "friends."

It's not that you hate them, but you haven't talked to them in over a year and things are just different.

4. When you accidentally cuss in front of your parents because the life you live at school isn't quite the same...

5. When you've been home for more than 25 minutes.

You love your parents, but at college, you don't have any rules and you don't have to answer questions about your grades, job, or why you are STILL single. Thanks, mom, no I am not getting married to the guy I locked eyes with one time in Market Street.

6. When someone asks you about your GPA.

7. When someone shouts your name from across the grocery store.

It's terrifying because you don't know who you are going to turn around to. Pray to God it's not your ex's mom because nine times out of ten, it is...

8. And then someone asks why you've changed your major 3 times...

It's not my fault that I want to be a doctor-lawyer who teaches fashion design at a University!!

9. Or when your parents start bragging on you at school and they don't know that "The Library" is the name of a local bar.

I probably should've kept this one to myself... I promise I am studying, mom.

10. When you run into your high school enemy...

Even if your life is in shambles, you smile, wave, and pretend your life is great. Kill them with kindness?

11. When your siblings get more attention than you and they live there 24/7.

I'm only home for a few days, at most... Would it kill you to pretend that you like me just a little more than the rest of the family??

12. When your mom makes you do chores.

13. And when you start making the drive back to college and immediately miss your family, especially your fur-babies.

When it all comes down to it, you still miss your family, dogs, and your nosy neighbors. It's usually about 4 hours down the road when the home-sickness begins to set in. However, it is always a little bit more comforting when you get back to school with your friends and your own bed.

You'll be able to go back home soon and try again at masking how you really feel about everyone at home.

Thank you, Jamie King, for giving us these perfect expressions about life back home. You've embodied this character perfectly!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
