Be a Best Friend
Finding best friends can be tough sometimes. It has been an interesting run for me personally, but once you find those people you can call your best friends do not let them go. These people will be there for you when you’re crying for an hour because its finals week and you’re overly stressed. They’ll be there for you when all you want to do is stay in bed all day, order food and watch Netflix. These are the people who become lifelong friends and you don’t need to talk to every day but you do anyway because not talking to them just seems odd.
Tell the Truth
Telling the truth is important, but trusting the truth is essential. The definition of trust is a “firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.” Honesty is very important in a lot of aspect of our lives. In every relationship, significant, friendship, sisters, family, trust is very important.
Overuse “I Love You”
I personally do not think the phrase “I love you” could ever be overused. Everyone likes to be reminded that they are loved and everyone likes to make other people feel loved. When I’m talking to my parents on the phone, over text messaging, in person at the end of the conversation, or if I’m leaving I always say I love you. You can never tell someone you love them too much.
Go to Work
Work sucks, school sucks, homework sucks, responsibility sucks but this is all part of growing up. Realizing that since you don’t live with your parents you can do whatever you want without their rules is great. But you should make some of your own rules. Go out and socialize whenever you can but make sure you’re all caught up on school work. Make sure you can make it to work and all of your classes the next day. Be sure you can make it through the day without falling asleep at your desk. You’re not going to be successful without going to work or school and doing your best.
Do Your Best
I think that something everyone, (including myself), struggle with is believing that their best is enough. We all need to realize that every single person on this Earth is different. You might be a musical genius and terrible at math. The person next to you is great at math but does not have the best writing skills. It is okay. If you focus on your talents, try your hardest and at the end of the day you can look in the mirror and honestly say that you had tried your best, then you should be more than happy with yourself. We all need to stop comparing ourselves to others and focus on doing our personal best.
Don't Outsmart Your Common Sense
We sometimes over think things which cause us to make split second decisions and not use our common sense. The definition of common sense is a “good sense and sound judgment in practical matters.” Basically, do not play dumb, make sure you use your brain and your good judgement and all will be well.
Never Let Your Praying Knees Get Lazy
Pray, meditate, think, whatever works and helps you get out of your head. Taking that one minute a day or even a week can make a difference for you. Doing this is sort of like closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. All of our lives are so busy with school, work, clubs, sports, organizations, the list goes on, so taking a few minutes to just relax and pray, meditate, or think can keep you from becoming so overwhelmed.
& Love Like Crazy
I think this one is self explanatory.
