Leaving A Better Tomorrow

Something to think about.

Leaving A Better Tomorrow
Paulemmanuel Ledesma Goff

In a world filled with chaos at every corner, with little to no explanation on why is all this happening, what will be left for the next generation? With rumored and actual wars in countries around the world, many fear what will happen if that war was to reach closer to home. Well what if the war that is being faced is already here? Within the US alone there has been rise in social stress and anxiety that has been targeting the new generation to the point of overwhelming levels yet, the focus point is on countries other than here and now. Imagine how the young see political views, religion, diversity, health, social standings, etc. Family, friends and people all around them fighting over who is right and what is considered wrong. However, who is there to correct issues? Politics? What a laugh.

There is more focus on self than on the wellbeing of who is going to win the next election to even care about those who are still too young to vote. The education system itself is being torn apart in a battle of right and wrong what is to be allowed and what is to be banned in school. What about the focus on teaching basic information to the next generation on what needs to know once they become an adult? Sure it would be claimed that it is the responsibility of the parents who are currently worrying about how to make ends meet, the latest sports scores, what is new in the fashion world, technology and what not, that when a child comes home after school what is left to them but seeing all this. The media spouts out their opinion on the better solution, yet depending what channel is watched, it is biased and up to the viewer to pick a side and wonder if it is the truth or not.

So many articles exist on how to raise children yet how many functional families are there these days? Divorce at a record high, abusive actions within a home and financial burdens that tears apart homes; yes sure adults are affected tremendously, yet the ones that have no say in what happens are the youth.

Statistically, what needs to happen until the focus changes to the wars that are happening right here? Not random talks and promises on what could be done, but actual results. Does it take the next generation to feel the burdens of the world as soon as they are of age, are they to fight in wars created by those who came before them, will they have to face day in and day out the constant stress of living in a negative environment which they have had no hand in creating? A solution, it is time to take a step back and think about what is being done through all the hate beneficial to them or is it only going to be another battle they will face alone. Stop and think what could be done to leave a better tomorrow for those who cannot speak for themselves yet. It is not about what is beneficial for self now, but for them of the future.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
